A Clean Break With The Past

At some point in the creative life of people who make things, you are confronted with your past.  Circumstances transport you to another time and another place.  A paradox develops because yesterday is gone forever.  Mama would always teach not to dwell on yesterday, "don't look back on yesterday's trails," she would say.  "Keep your eyes on the trail you have to walk out today."  Wise advice, Mama.  Letting go of yesterday is liberating!  It frees you up to the "What If" possibilities of choices you select today.  It's the difference between fantasy and reality.  A fantasy is never going to be as rewarding and satisfying as the real thing.  The real is divine and is "the stuff of dreams."  The real is where you have to "fasten your seat belts because it's going to be a bumpy ride!"  I'm learning to enjoy the moments of my bumpy ride life -- joy, hope, faith, mercy and love are all around us, if we take the time to see through "drawing" eyes.
